"We are still trying to get over modernism"

An erstwhile professor from my formative undergrad years uttered that phrase ,while imbibing a good amount of Yeungling Lager, to some former students, including the Doctor, one spring night two years ago.

And it has rattled around in my head ever since.

Here is a review of the exhibition Modernism: Designing a New World 1914-39 at the Victoria and Albert museum in London, which sheds some light on utopia vs. reality.

Hat tip to compatriot Bradford.
